Our Ministries

Christian Education

Children's Sunday School is offered during the School Year (Labor Day through Memorial Day).  The children leave the sanctuary  with the teacher(s) after the Children's Sermon and return before the end of the service.  Children of all ages are welcome!

Adult Sunday School meets every Sunday at 9:00 am.   We discuss a variety of topics, including Bible studies, Lutheran traditions, and current issues.

First Communion Instruction is offered for children in 5th grade every year.  Classses usually begin in March, and First Communion is celebrated on Palm Sunday.

Confirmation classes are held each Wednesday evening during the school year.  7th and 8th grade students are invited to participate in the Confirmation program.  After completing the two-year program, 8th grade students confirm their faith on Pentecost Sunday.

Vacation Bible School is held for one week in July each year. Children age 3 through those who have completed 6th grade are invited to participate.  Activities include music, games, crafts, and storytelling.

Music

The Adult Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings during the school year from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.  Sid Rathert directs the choir as they  sing anthems and sometimes helps lead the liturgy during Sunday morning worship services and other special services.  The choir is always seeking new voices!

The Bell Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings during the school year from 8:00 to 9:00 pm.  Sid Rathert directs the three-octave hand bell choir.  They ring at Sunday morning services and other special services.
